The shelf that holds my large Epson printer is arm's length from my desk and has an enticing catch-all ledge.
The pile of papers had developed into a precarious stack that I kept brushing with my arm.

The ole mail pile will get you every time! I now make it a point to open and deal with all mail the day it arrives. Then I have no toppling mail piles ever. But I do have other toppling piles! One step at a time.
